What have we done? How did we disseminate our project to local community?

Bulgaria

The students from 10. 11 and 12 grades watched the film “The class”. They were very impressed. They look forward to seeing the second part of the film. Here are some student’s opinions about   the film:          “Tsvetelina”, a 12 grade student: “The film is very impressive. I think that the students from 8 class have to watch this film, too. They will learn how to behave in school.”           Magi, a 10 grade student: “I’m afraid of some scenes, but I appreciate highly this film.

On 20 November we disseminated the convention about the children’s rights in each class.
The teachers in Information Technology helped the students with the project logos.
We conducted a poll  “What Is Your Source of Happiness?”
The students started collecting the information about the recycling in our region.
We organized “Logo competition”.
We published an article about our first working meeting in Estonia in the school newspaper “Teenager spirit”. We also discussed the meeting and oncoming activities with the teachers and students involved in the project.

Estonia

We organized  the  1st project meeting in Estonia and  logo contest and voting.  We also conducted a poll “What is your source of happiness?”. We have published information about our project and 1st meeting in local newspaper “Tõstamaa Tuuled” http://ajaleht.tostamaa.ee/2010/tt_11_10.pdf and school newspaper  ”Koolivaim” http://www.tostamaa.edu.ee/default.asp?id=104.

France

We were writing articles about human rights, preparing a presentation from a song about the pursuit of happiness, we prepared  campaigns  around human  rights that will be put up in the school hall, we also prepared posters about human rights that are also put up in the buildings, we prepared a press release, but we will publish in January ( political context).  In class the students are working on projects about human rights in social sciences, civic education and in bac class called TPE, where the students have to prepare an exposé about a chosen theme by themselves. These last ones are graded, but not the others. We have created the web-site http://problembustersnews.wordpress.com .

Norway

We’ve been working with a project called “Problem –Busters – A Comenius Project”. This is a project between students from Poland, Norway, Estonia, Bulgaria and France. We have asked people questions about happiness.  Our class has been working in pairs, and asked students and teachers at different ages. We received a lot of answers and the results were summited to different statistics.  We had a lot of fun working with this project, and it’s been interesting to see the results of it. Family and friends seem to be really important to people, while fashion and money doesn’t have such a big value. (more information on our common web-site)

Poland

We created Polish Problem-Busters Group – almost 70 members. We have our own web-site: www.pogromcyproblemow.wordpress.com and Facebook Group (58 members).

We also realized lessons devoted to human rights. We watched following documentary films: „We Buy, Who Pays?”, „Journey of a Red Fridge”,       “Crisis Control: Stemming the Spread of HIV/AIDS”, „Bridge over the Wadi”,          „Paradise. Three journeys in this World”,     “In the Name of Honour” . The students solved problems through Drama and other creative methods, discussed problems, wrote articles and reflections, prepared posters, created projects “I have the right to Happiness”.

We conducted a poll “What is your source of happiness”, organized competitions for the best project’s logo also  collage, presentation and poster devoted to Happiness.

Movie and journalists’ group: we  organized  7 “Movie Fridays” (2 for teachers, 5 for students) and presented following  films devoted to human rights and Happiness: “I’m bad”, “Desert Flower”, “Mall Girls”, “Squint Your Eyes”, “Women at the End of the World”. We discussed human rights topics and youth problems.
Drama group participated in Drama workshops. Meeting in December was led by Ahmed Sarhan, Palestinian Drama Teacher. The workshops called “Sultan”. The group also visited theater and watched performance “Shear Madness”.
Photo Group started work on exhibition “Winter impressions”.
Ecology Group worked on “Tree campaigne”, eco-posters, movies and articles.

We prepared Comenius corner with all information. We also informed students, teachers and parents about our project. We have published an article in local newspaper: http://trojmiasto.gazeta.pl/trojmiasto/1,85946,8620158,Pogromcy_problemow_z__jedynki_.html
